Rocketmen can be the most horrible thing ever to play against if you don’t have the tools to deal with them. My opponent wanted to test out a Bennett list with all the Rocketmen. I figured I’d just drop Thexus and see what happens.

Unfortunately there is more to Crucible Guard than just solving for Syvestro and Lukas. There is also the infamous “Ass-mountain” which is arguably the strongest list in the meta right now. I have faced it once before with the Ossrum Hammerstrike list and it was a horrific experience to see how fast my army would melt. I know this will be another uphill battle, but the hope is that if I can leverage Kell and Eiryss to kill 3-4 dudes each turn before engagement it may be enough to survive the feat turn and come out ahead on the other side.

I had retooled my list slightly with a very clear plan going into this game. One of the Drillers has been replaced with a Rockram and I have swapped both the Blasters with Gunners. This should give me enough firepower to one-round a Suppressor with shooting if I can get rid of the Mentalist with Harlowe (https://anydice.com/program/27fdd ). Without Rust the hope is that enough of my heavy hitters can survive the feat turns to retaliate and ride out a scenario win.

Lately I have been worrying a lot about Crucible Guard Rocketmen and how to deal with them in Mercs. I have had a vague idea that Ashlynn1 could spend the feat turn to just go ham and kill the entire unit before they get a chance to jam me up to badly. With the buff to Thamarite Archons I have an excellent opportunity to test out the theory even though the nerfs to the Morrowan Archon and Battle Priests hit this list pretty hard.
