My opponent had time for a rematch. I felt that the Rahera list would need some drastic rework to function properly so I decided to swap to my most recent Ossrum list. This will be an interesting test since Ossrum is still looking like he will end up in my pairing and I could end up in this matchup if my CG opponent is very afraid of the crit staggers or if I somehow end up finding a second list which hard counters Syvestro and Lukas.

First Friday each month is Casual Friday at the local gaming club so I scheduled a game with a Crucible Guard player and asked him not to bring any Rocketmen. He was happy to meet my request and cooked up a variant of the famous Ass Mountain Gearhart list. I have been brewing up a Rahera list whitch is capable to deal out four AoE 4 shots High Explosive, but still theats far and hits hard.

110 Ossrum1 HS vs Syvestro1 MO

I have finally refined my Ossrum list after the nerfs and am ready to get a good stress test against Crucible Guard. Instead of dropping Lukas my opponent wants to try his off-list which is Syvestro in Magnup Opus. I have yet to face the fabled DEF 20 Rocketmen and am happy to see what all the fuzz is about. Besides, we are playing with the new blast immunity rules so my POW 7 and 8 blasts should be able to deal some damage, right?

104 Thexus1 OT vs Lukas1 PM

The reader may have asked themself why this blog has been named after Exulon Thexus’ feat, but there are no Thexus games to be seen. The answer is that while he has been my absolute favourite and most played caster over the years the meta recently hasn’t exactly favoured lists with wave after wave of single wound infantry models. The addition of Gaspy4 and the Void archons to Operating Theater makes the prospect of playing a drudge-less Thexus list quite interesting.

I got a chance to play yet another match against Lukas1 PM. Which I am happy for because Lukas is a caster I haven’t played against since the original CG CID and he was way different then. He seems like a very solid caster and will probably be commonly included in CG pairs for the foreseeable future. I changed my list slightly swapping out LoLS and Vigilants for Precursor Knights and Resolutes.

For my 100th blog match I got the opportunity to get a rematch against Lukas1, but against another opponent. I had spent some time thinking about the Mercs matchup since the previous game and decided to try a small variation of the Ashlynn1 Flames list I have been playing earlier. My opponent brought a similar list to my previous opponent, just swapping failed experiments and one Railless Interceptor with a full unit of Trancers and two more Liberators.

Time for another mini tournament! We were planning for 8 people, but two people had to cancel last minute so we ended up with only 6 players. But it was quite the shark tank, so I was having high hopes of repeating the success from the previous tournament. This Showdown was announced with a bit of a twist when it came to terrain. We were told to expect crazy tables, and I have to say that’s what we got!

21. June 2020, 2d6 Showdown 18-20, Round 2

Spirits are high after the first round win and a nice lunch outside. However, I am quickly drawn back down to earth after seeing my opponent’s Crucible Guard pair which consists of Syvestro and Gearhart. Neither of my lists are any good into this pair and I am fairly convinced that he will drop Gearhart, but I decide to drop Fiona to have a slightly better chance just in case he decides to drop Syvestro. But my opponent knows what he is doing and drops Gearhart.
